Minecraft costs money and needs a launcher, which is exactly the wrong combination when you have twenty minutes and a borrowed laptop. The good news is that the voxel formula — dig a block, place a block, survive the night — is simple enough that browser games do it well.
None of these are Minecraft, and none of them pretend to be. What they share is the loop: an open world made of cubes, a crafting system and no barrier between you and the first block you break.

If you want to keep a world, check whether the game saves to local storage before you invest an evening in it; most of these do, but clearing your browser data will wipe it.
